Dr Julio Jeldres: A MASTER VISITS MARIENHOF AND THE EAST CHARMS THE WEST

A MASTER VISITS MARIENHOF AND THE EAST CHARMS THE WEST

An extraordinary event happened at Marienhof, an ancient monastery in Amersfoort (Netherlands), the first weekend in May 2019.

Emeritus Feng Shui Master Yun Long Zi from Singapore brought to the Marienhof a selection of his exquisite Feng Shui paintings to introduce the Dutch public to Feng Shui art. The exhibition was named "Celebrating Wind and Water" and it was held for the first time ever in a European country.

Master Yun is very well-known in Southeast Asia, where his paintings form part of the private collections of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia, Her Majesty the Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk of Cambodia and several other members of the Royal Family of Cambodia, as well as many other personalities and royals in the Southeast Asian region.

In the Netherlands, Master Yun has many clients who have consulted with him for many years but this exhibition was more about making Feng Shui art accessible to the Dutch people.

What Master Yun brought to Marienhof was in the best traditions of what the Chinese refer to as "Tao" or the highest possible level of art. Feng Shui art being the highest level of art, inspired from heaven in a sublime exchange with humanity.

It was unusual, innovative and impressive. And Master Yun's dusting presentation was in the words of one of the owners of Marienhof "an spectacular performance never seen before in the Netherlands".

Master Yun who generously sponsors the Royal Ballet of Cambodia and other smaller Cambodian Classical ballet troupes, always associates them with his exhibitions and on this occasion he also brought to the Marienhof some Cambodian dancers which thoroughly delighted the audience with their Apsara, Blessings and Peacock dances.

All in all a great exhibition by Master Yun Long Zi which enchanted over 300 people during three consecutive nights at the ancient and splendid Marienhof Hall.

In one word, the East charmed the West!
