Uncovering the Mystery of the Lotus Pineapple Dragon

What is Lotus Pineapple Dragon (皇梨龙)?

Why Lotus Pineapple Dragon?

Why not Prosperity Dragon (旺梨龙)? Prosper your dragon (旺你的龙)? Isn’t this more appropriate to the fame of Lotus on Water (云龙子旺财翡翠馆)?

Why is it a combination of pineapple and dragon, rather than a combination orange, apple, or grapes and dragon?

These are the questions I had in my mind regarding the Lotus Pineapple Dragon. My mind was full of why, why and why?

In order to answer all my questions, I looked through all materials on Lotus on Water and made sure that I did not miss anything regarding the Lotus Pineapple Dragon! Only after thorough research did I realise that Lotus Pineapple Dragon is a mascot that was designed by Master Yun himself. The name Lotus Pineapple Dragon represents “the best of the earth and the treasure of the heaven (地上之最,天上之宝)”!

However, this does not satisfy my curiosity. Somehow, this Lotus Pineapple Dragon does not seem that simple to me, there must be something more unique about it.

Hence, I continued my exploration and research on Lotus Pineapple Dragon, repeatedly questioning myself about this Dragon.

Shouldn’t the dragon be with the phoenix? There’s this saying of “prosperity brought by the dragon and the phoenix (龙凤呈祥)”, and we do not hear it being “prosperity brought by the dragon and the pineapple (龙-黄梨呈祥)”.
So why is the dragon with the pineapple now?
Or does the dragon prefer eating pineapples?

It turned out that there was indeed much more to it.

Pineapple can be written as “黄梨” ( as yellow) as well as “凤梨” ( as phoenix) in Chinese. This is because the leaves of a pineapple plant look like that of a phoenix tail. Revelation: the Lotus Pineapple Dragon is actually the Lotus Pineapple Phoenix as well, this unique mascot designed by Lotus on Water actually carried the auspicious meaning of “prosperity brought by the dragon and the phoenix (龙凤呈祥).

Taking a closer look at the Lotus Pineapple Dragon pendant, you would notice a head of a dragon carved over an overturned pineapple that has its leaves at the bottom. The overturned pineapple has the hidden meaning of “the arrival of prosperity (旺到)”, and if you look at it from a holistic view, the pendant has both the power of the dragon’s head and a phoenix’s tail!

In the Book of Changes (易经), qian represents heaven and kun represents earth and according to the book, yin and yang makes up everything in this world. The Lotus Jadeite Pineapple Dragon is thus a bearer of this yin and yang, possessing the best qi of heaven and earth, and through this dragon and phoenix, the best prosperity in the universe is channelled to you.

I often hear this saying: detail is everything. From the day I became a member of Lotus on Water, I knew that everything in Lotus on Water is about details, and it is no wonder that it is the leader of the fengshui community. Just by looking at the Lotus Jadeite Pineapple Dragon, you would be able to see Lotus’s dedication and persistence when it comes to details.

It is true that you can see another world just by looking at a jadeite.
