Let Me Tell You What is Opportunity

Looking back, my first impression of this customer would be one of happiness! Full of happiness she is whenever visiting Lotus on Water, lightening the atmosphere with her five sounds of “Ha”! It is this unique laughter of hers that left an impression on me during the interview segment of the event on 21st February 2016.

Yes, you can say that she is a regular of Lotus on Water and I should have an understanding of her affinity with us.
Yes, I indeed have an idea of that. But it is always better to hear it from the horse’s mouth, like how it is always better to listen to Mr Lee Kuan Yew personally speak of his experiences than to read it from a book.

It was the same for her. She might be a little shy during the interview, but she was unable to hide the joy on her face, it was a look that reflected how she considered herself lucky to have gone on a journey with Lotus on Water. She started her Lotus journey with my favourite piece of Lotus jadeite—the kind and amiable looking Lotus Laughing Buddha pendant. That was 9th of December 2014, when she was deep in financial crisis and had to charge four credit cards just to get her first Lotus Laughing Buddha pendant. But…

It was this financial crisis that brought her to Lotus on Water!
It was Lotus on Water that brought her Lotus Laughing Buddha pendant!
It was the Lotus Laughing Buddha pendant that brought her wealth!
It was this wealth that brought a bright grin to her face!

Everything in this world is inseparable from fate and opportunity.
There is this Buddhist terminology: fate is an opportunity. It is said in the book of The Great Calming and Contemplation, “When the opportunity arises, go into meditation, let go of everything and seek Buddhahood.” Opportunity exists only if you cherish it, otherwise it’s non-existent. So what is cherishing? It is to seize the opportunity.

It is said whether you are rich or poor, everyone gets 7 chances in a lifetime, and these 7 chances can completely change your destiny. Two of them will be lost as we are either too old or young to seize it, another two will be lost as we didn’t notice it. Therefore, we are only left with 3 chances to make a fortune in our lifetime.

If she did not seize the opportunity of her lifetime when she stepped into Lotus on Water in December 2014, how would she be like now? I would choose to think that because she seized one of the three opportunities she had in her life, that’s why she is leading such an “easy” life now!
