Museum in Lotus Special: Winter Solstice Event Part 3 Hsun-ok

Master Yun always incorporates new and interesting concepts into his re-blessing sessions. And this Winter Solstice event was no different. Let us find out more with Ashley and Mr Pino!

Ashley (A): Thank you again Mr Kan and the Little Tigers. This is the last session of our mini Museum in Lotus. Ok, Mr Pino, let us share with them a little bit about these two things that if you have been with watching with us so far, you would have noticed that when Master Yun was doing his reblessing and the sword display performance, he was actually using the top of the sword, which is so called the dragon head to point inwards to this, this item. I will let you explain what is this.

Mr Pino and Ashley Explaining the Hsun-ok's Material

Pino (P): Yes.

A: From there he was actually throwing this (throwing the flower petals into the air). Much more beautiful than the way I throw anyway. Pino, would you share with them more about this. Is very unique. A golden colour, a red colour and it seems like the material itself is very different.

Pino (P): I would like to summarise by saying that tonight we have presented three different objects.

A: Yeah.

P: From three different countries.

A: Yes.

P: We have presented something from India. We have presented something from Japan and now this is from Burma.

A: Which is Myanmar as well?

P: Correct!

A: Modern days.

P: What they actually have in common is the dating that they are all the 19th century.

A: Ok, more than a century for all these items. Oh my god! The way I touched it is like......

P: What they were used for? First of all, these were called the Hsun-ok.

A: Hsun-ok, Ok.

P: Now we can see that these have been used since the 13th century in Burma and these are offering containers which actually ladies either wearing them on top of their heads or around their arms bringing into the monastery.

A: Ah yes, because Burma or Myanmar is Buddhist countries right?

P: Correct.

A: We have seen like a lot of monasteries all over the countries.

P: Yes.

A: In Yangon, in Mandalay, in Bagan. These are something that they bring. And to put their offerings inside.

P: Yes, to put their offerings.

A: Ok.

The Gold and Red Hsun-ok

P: Now, why would they bring this to the monasteries? And to the monks?

A: Yes. It was like....very possible. Haha.

P: To gain merits. This was the reason.

A: Ok.

P: Now what did they contain? They contained actually food.

A: Ok.

P: So they were actually feeding. It was an act of charity towards the monks.

A: Oh, yes, yes, yes.

P: And only the very wealthy family would be able to afford to buy something like this.

A: Only very wealthy family.

P: Only very wealthy family.

A: I see.

P: The differences between the two of them is evident. First of all, I would like to underline that this one in red is more rural. It's not as refined. It's not as beautiful. It's not as accurate as the other one.

A: Ok.

P: This is made of bamboo rattan.

A: Ok.

P: And on the top of this, we will see a beautiful fennel and this would be reminiscing of the monasteries in Burma. Very similar to them .

A: Yes, but that's pretty heavy actually.

P: Yes.

A: How can they ever carry this on their head?

P: But can I say women when they are devoted. When they are doing something for merits, they will carry anything even if it is heavy.

A: Yes, I mean if this were to bring me merits, you know, to bring my husband prosperity and home harmony. I will do everything even if it was 100kg .

P: Yes, you will do it. And when we look at this, this has at least 13 layers of lacquer.

A: Oh they painted 13 layers?

P: 13 but after they basically layered the lacquer, they would sort of been sandpapered. But it's not sandpaper. It's a different kind of technique that they use.

A: Right.

P: At the end, it would be completed.

A: Ok.

P: The beauty about this piece.

A: Yes.

P: If we see the red lacquer, we see also some black.

A:Yes.

P: Because some of the layers were actually black.

A: Ok.

P: And this difference that we see of the black and the red is so called Negoro. The Negoro effect. Negoro is a Japanese word.

A: Ok

P: And collectors will go crazy for something like this.

A: Wow, how about this? This would be made of wood?

P: This is a rural one. I would say that.

A: So those live in the cities would use that.

P: Right , these would be in cities. This is actually made out of wood, more refined .

A: Wow!

P: Now, you just look the difference. Here we have the gold and we have here beautiful symbols. And it is very detailed.

A: Ya. very very exquisite.

P: And inside it's also red.

A: Red signifies a lot of good things for Asians.

P: And then we would see that red is a sign of prosperity. then extremely beautiful, extremely tale.
again very wealthy family. and to gain merits. aesthetically extremely beautiful.

A: yes and for you guys to be watching us, having Master Yun's blessings and stuff, I like to bring your attention to some other items that Lotus has. And I also want to introduce to you, Mr Pino.

P: Yes.

A: This is something that's just as exquisite as these Hsun-ok that Mr Pino has mentioned. And these are actually what we call as the white inkstones and these are used by the emperors in ancient china. What they do with these  are not to hit the head of of their servants or maids or you know, try to kill someone with it. No, these are not marbles for information right? These are actually something that they will actually placed on the tables, study tables and use the ink , you know, something like that.

Ashley Explaining the Use of The Imperial White Inkstone

A: So if you where to purchase this from Lotus right, we'll be sharing or rather giving this thing we call it in mandarin the 朱砂墨. Ok, it's actually made of vermillion. As can see on this exquisite piece, the red lines on top, these are actually the red vermillion threads, right?

A: So, these are something that I can relate to hsun-ok. Is because first of all, its very exquisite you know? These are used by the well to do families, emperors and empress, and secondly, instead of getting merits through offering of food you can have your wishes come true. When you do this inking on the white inkstone. So, if you were to put it at the right direction and meditate, you manifest about whatever you want,  like to resolve conflicts with colleagues, you know, better relationship with, or maybe like bigger business opportunities, right? you just have got to think of it to manifest on this, right?

A: Constantly but remember the key thing is right direction. So you have got to call Cola to find out alright. These are some items that you can use for your permanent fengshui and yeah I will just think that is this something that every home will have and should have and when you have a business or an office, it's also a very good item for you to possess, so there we go, Mr Pino, this is the end of our session.

P: Thank you very much, thank you

A: I really enjoyed the session and great learning session,  thank you.

P: Thank you

A: So back to you Mr Kan.

I hope that these special sessions of Museum of Lotus has brought you greater understanding of the unique artefacts in Lotus on Water and how they link with Master Yun's re-blessing session. Therefore, your re-blessed collections will become even more powerful and infused with more prosperous energy!

“Tricked” to Leap of Faith

My hubby “tricked” one evening in Jul 2018, suppose to bring me for dinner and we ended up in Lotus On Water.

4 grand galleries and I was wondering what kind of food they serve. When I walked in, it is all Jadeite, not food! Hmm…I met Mr. Kan, young & intelligent looking man, and I was wondering is he aged enough to be an expert Feng Shui master? He went through the Feng Shui for my family. I was shown the Ammonite Jadeite and honestly the price caught me by surprise.

Fast forward, I took the Leap of Faith with Lotus On Water and started my 1st Ammonite Jadeite…. and there was no return….2nd item  was the Crystal Mountain, 山管人丁,水管財, …3rd item was my Cabochon ring…4th item was DuanXi White Ink Stone…

Why so many items within 3 years? After my 1st Jadeite, somehow obstacles disappeared… with the Crystal Mountain placed, overall family relationship enhanced. With the Cabochon ring and the placement of White Ink Stone, 一白遮三丑, @ favorable direction, risk was turned into opportunities.

My family members meditate on the White Ink Stone. We treat it as a wishing well and wishes came true indeed!

We are a firmed believer of Feng Shui as 一命,二运,三水.

We were on the hunt for a reputable fengshui master then in 2018 and we found Lotus On Water.

I must thank my hubby for “tricking” me that lead me to Mr. Kan, an industry expert indeed. More importantly, everyone in the family benefited from the Feng Shui from Lotus On Water.

Black Inkstone Also Can Be Very "Atas"

Most people would think White Inkstone 御用白端 is the much more expensive one. Well, just to let black inkstones feel a bit better, there are also pretty expensive black Duan inkstones 端溪静水砚台.

Exquisite in terms of grade, generous in terms of size, abundant in terms of inclusions and special features, and definitely smoother than a baby's cheek.

I placed my favorite top grade 老坑 Laokeng black inkstone (still available!) next to them so we can roughly get the difference in size.

This is of the 麻子 Mazi grade. 麻子 Mazi is just two grades after Laokeng, and this piece has many "live" eyes (see the round things with a red speck in the center?); those are super valuable features that they regard highly in auction houses. The reddish "skin" (remnants of the raw boulder) is decorated as the leaf of grapes.
Price: 88,868SGD

This is of the Laokeng grade. In fact, top tier of Laokeng grade. Those who have touched it before will never forget how smooth it is. So smooth, as if all your troubles and obstacles shall slip away. One obvious feature, is the plentiful of golden threads, intertwined like veins and blood vessels, giving life to this magical piece of black Duan inkstone. The favorite of mine, the smaller Laokeng black inkstone, is from the same source.
Price: 138,868SGD

Now you know, black Duan inkstones can also be very atas.

Because your kids' grades are worth it. Because harmony is worth it.

RECAP ON TALK 1 : Watershed Year 2020, And Why YOUR White Inkstones Matter

RECAP ON TALK 1 : Watershed Year 2020, And Why YOUR White Inkstones Matter

Despite having a rerun for the 1st session, Mr Kan was still greeted by overwhelming and passionate crowds on both days of the Annual Fengshui Talk!

In Mr Kan's 1st session, he covered 4 FOUR annual flying stars for next year (2020, 庚子年 Metal-Rat year). 2 TWO of the more awful stars were mentioned.

Next year, the Black Duan Inkstone 端溪静水砚台 is VERY NEEDED. It helps to resolve conflicts and also prevent malefactors. VERY NECESSARY for 2020 -- a year of stripped opportunities and intense conflicts, especially for Singapore.

Other than intense conflicts, there are going to be A LOT of malefactors 小人. They steal your opportunities, split your riches. To resolve the "small people", you should put the Pearl Of Purple and Red Qi 紫气鸿云珠.

Speak to your Lotus advisors to find out the exact spot to place your remedies.

But if you want to WIN in 2020, simply resolving conflicts is not enough. You need POWER and BENEFACTORS.

You need the Lotus Imperial White Inkstone 御用白端.

You surely have heard about 一白遮三丑 ("one white covers three ugliness"). When you ENHANCE one area of auspiciousness, three sectors of bad energies are suppressed.

The beautiful thing about White Inkstone is that it prospers your benefactors 贵人, authority and victory power.

Some people do fengshui weirdly out there, aiming for mediocrity. Strange. Why waste your life. At Lotus on Water, we rather make our lives count. Greatness, or nothing.

And having the White Inkstone is a very EFFICIENT move. There's a difference between WINNING, and "not lose".

And very limited White Inkstones are available every year, better seize your favorite ones, fast.

In ancient times, the White Inkstones are only used by emperors for grinding red vermillion that was used to approve or reject official documents – all national affairs were decided by the red vermillion ground on these White Inkstones. Hence, White Inkstones symbolise supreme power and authority. When we grind red vermillion on White Inkstone, it is similar to making decisions on national affairs, business affairs, family affairs. With our abilities and faith, we grind the red vermillion in hope of achieving our heart desires.

In fact, there are 2 TWO benefactor stars for 2020. In an intensely competitive Metal-Rat year, best to have benefactors left and right to boost you.

BEST to have 2 TWO White Inkstones to invite your benefactors to you.

Who are these benefactors? One of them is the Martial Benefactor 武贵人. Tough to please and capture, but the rewards are HUGE.

The other, Literati Benefactor 文贵人. A nicer guy for sure, but his arrival might be delayed.

You want to capture both of them.

With stronger benefactors, the conflicts and malefactors of 2020 are contained.

With stronger White Inkstones, you win in 2020.

Remember to fix your appointment with your Lotus advisors. Let's implement these prosperous solutions specifically to your home and office.

Mr Kan said: 2020 can be a very challenging year. But it can also be the one that "serves you a new hand of cards" -- a watershed year, and you determine where your river shall flow.

Choose VICTORY. Choose PROSPERITY.

RECAP(3): Focus On The Light

As we are counting down to Start of Spring 立春, we had our last and very important session of Annual Fengshui Talk. THANK YOU for packing the Lotus galleries so enthusiastically!

In the last session, we covered TWO very exciting sectors.

First, the INDIRECT WEALTH sector. Or what we commonly call, 偏财, or windfall luck. But it's more than that. It's generally the second source of income. Could be your investments, could be your second career.

My recommendation to activate the annual indirect wealth spot, other than lighting the Five Paths of Wealth Incense, you place sandalwood -- beads or pendant, or even sculpture -- at that designated spot.

In case you need a revision, agarwood is to activate direct wealth, and sandalwood is for indirect wealth.

To have a sandalwood pendant or a string of sandalwood beads would be a more long-term remedy. You would just need to shift it to the new spot every year. Of course, before you can achieve this, light the Five Paths of Wealth Incense.

The second sector is the SOUTH. Now, you might have read or hearsay from elsewhere that the south sector for 2019 (己亥 Earth-Pig year) is not such a pleasant/positive sector. We at Lotus on Water are more optimistic. And more thorough in our analysis.

The south sector in 2019 is literati energy, especially useful for those who need to be eloquent in their daily work. It also brings progression, and good fame. I strongly encourage you to make good use of this sector in 2019.

And there are many ways to activate the south sector energy. Surely, you can light the Five Paths of Wealth Incense there. You can also place either sandalwood or agarwood, or both. There's much to harvest and gain from 2019's south.

And with these two sectors, I covered all NINE sectors of 2019's annual fengshui. But I emphasized: it is not necessary for you to do up all nine sectors immediately, nor would it be efficient.

You got to recognize what is crucial to the configuration of your house and office, and to your situation, your concerns and ambitions for 2019.

Another rule-of-thumb you want to bear in mind is, focus on doing something positive, for prosperity and long-term, not just defending. The saying is 一白遮三丑, which means one area of light shall chase away three areas of shadow. Focusing on what you can achieve and prosper is not just a more efficient way of doing fengshui, it is also a more impactful path.

Imagine, a decade later, the gains you achieve every year shall accumulate. And you would have transformed into a much more enriched, prosperous and happy person. This won't happen if you keep focusing on what's bad and how to defend against it.

This guiding principle also morphed the way I structured my talk sessions this time round. I like to call them "sets of yin and yang". On one hand, you defend; on the other hand, you go all assertive to achieve.

Here's a summary.

To ward off accidents and illnesses, place the big bronze coins and tea hulu; but a more assertive way would be to place your crystal mountain for long-term health and relationship benefits, and have your agarwood too.

To smoothen conflicts and problems by malefactors 小人, place the Duanxi Clear Waters Black Inkstones; but a more powerful way would be to have strong benefactors and poise yourself as a victor with the Imperial White Inkstone.

Strive to be better in 2019. Strive to be better every single year.

HUAT ON.

-- Kan, Executive Director
