THANK YOU!! -- Master Yun's ION art exhibition was an overwhelming success! There were so many highlights that will take us quite a while to recap. I am sure we are all mesmerized by the grandeur of Master Yun's paintings, and when the lights go off...
Simply celestial.
Another WOW moment was during the opening night when we unveiled Master Yun's calligraphy sutra scroll of 5-thousand over words:
This is "The Diamond Sutra", one of the most important Buddhist scriptures. You will see that some words are redder, some are brown, and some are blacker. That's because Master Yun is not using common black ink -- as usual, Master Yun is very particular about the material he uses, which includes what kind of paper, what kind of pen, what kind of ink...what you are seeing here, is a mixture of pine-soot ink 松烟墨, red vermilion 朱砂, and the Lotus Fortune Tea 富存茶, which contains agarwood and sandalwood essence...all these, mixed and concocted on the Lotus Imperial White Inkstone 御用白端.
Master Yun writes as he meditates. Calligraphy writing and working on his fengshui paintings are forms of his mediation. Where he writes, there is incense, the fengshui is attuned, and the Qi flows. His writings become distillations of his meditations. And not just a day's meditation, but over a period of time. Whenever we see the red reappears in the writings, a new day of writing begins. A long calligraphy scroll such as "The Diamond Sutra", took at least 3 months...
We used to have more of Master Yun's calligraphy scrolls. They have been bought away by blessed clients since some years back -- congratulations! And since we unveiled Master Yun's "The Diamond Sutra" again, many have asked: are there more of such meditative and powerful works of art?
Fortunately, and unfortunately, I only have this to offer:
This is also Master Yun's calligraphy sutra, not "The Diamond Sutra" though, but the "Buddha Expounding Amitabha Sutra 佛说阿弥陀经". This sutra is about the ultimate goodness of following the Dharma, the ultimate treasures of the ultimate world or realm...so, contrary to the opinion that Buddhism is all about frugality, this sutra actually tells us of treasures beyond imagination, so much to the extent that we are not bounded by them...
Similar to "The Diamond Sutra", this second last calligraphy sutra is also written with pine-soot ink, red vermilion and the Lotus Fortune Tea. And so, there is a whiff of agarwood and sandalwood fragrance floating from the rice paper.
An appropriate place to display this would be behind your crystal mountain. And especially so if yours is a Lotus crystal Guan Yin or Buddha sculpture. When you have this in your house or office, it is as if the prayers are constantly being recited and blessings consistently radiated. And with your Lotus crystal in place, the powers of the vermilion writings expand.
As the Qi flows, Master Yun's meditative writings energizes your fengshui placements. You will never get the chance to have your crystals and other house fengshui placements reblessed, but the calligraphy sutra helps.
It is, afterall, really like bringing back a part of Master Yun's meditative essence.
