一日一龙

Fifty dragon. The flying dragon. 

九五。飞龙。

The Classic reads: The Flying Dragon in the realm of heaven. It’s beneficial to see Great People.

 爻曰：飞龙在天，利见大人。

 

My modern interpretation:
我的现代诠释：

This dragon is already the emperor. What is the difference between the fifth dragon and the second dragon? They both meet great people.

这一爻的飞龙，巳经是贵为皇帝（或领导）。九五的＂利见大人”和九二的＂利见大人”有什么不同？

The second dragon is beneficial to meet great people so that he can be promoted. The fifth dragon is beneficial to meet great people so that he can promote them.  

九二的“利见大人”是遇到可以提拔我们的人。九五的＂利见大人”是遇见我们可以提拔的人。

Greatness is not the chair a person sits onto. When a small person sits on a big chair he is still a small person. When a great man sits on the floor, he is still a great man. 

大人不是一个人屁股坐上的椅子。小人坐在大椅子，还是小人。大人坐在地上，还是大人。

But when a small person sits on the big chair, the universe is chaotic. When a great man sits on the floor, you deprive the world from prosperity and fullness.

可是小人坐大椅，天下大乱。大人坐地上，天下不富。

The duty of the flying dragon is to find out the great people sitting on the floor, and let them sit on big chairs.

飞龙的任务是找出坐在地上的大人，想办法让他坐上大椅子。

 

Flying, so to see far and wide and clear.

飞，是为了看得更清楚, 更远更广。

When you promote great people, the sky is bright (Qian hexagram). When you don’t promote them, you are not even a true dragon.
提拔了大人，天便是光明的（乾）。不懂得提拔，连个龙都不配当。

 

This dragon character is a bit special. The left side looks like the character “emperor “.
这幅龙字有点特别，左边的偏傍是个“帝”。
